Disaster Recovery Strategy Assessment
Assessment focused on information technology continuity, recovery, and restoration
Business changes in the growing global economy, coupled with the reliance on information technology systems, have made obsolete the traditional methods of recovery for corporate IT disaster recovery. Advances in business continuity technologies, expansion of digital media, the need to be competitive in e-commerce, and regulatory issues are forcing executives to reformulate their recovery solutions. IT disaster recovery planning is not insurmountable. However, organizations must use new methodologies, services, and technologies to create viable disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, which can be done at marginal cost, if they hope to survive in this competitive climate.
MBR’s Disaster Recovery Strategy Assessment starts with an assessment of the business requirements of critical and less critical applications and data availability in conjunction with an organization's current disaster recovery infrastructure and processes.
This approach ensures that RPOs and RTOs are aligned with business resumption requirements and that no technical architecture impediments or surprises emerge during a disaster. Once we identify your ideal disaster recovery solution, we work with you to build a detailed plan.
We then provide recommendations for the following key areas:
Report based on Business Impact Assessment
RPO/RTO report by application/data criticality
Disaster recovery strategy cost/benefit analysis
Disaster recovery strategy recommendations
Disaster recovery site recommendations
Approach
We survey key stakeholders drawn from cross-functional groups to conduct the assessment. We also review existing documents (e.g., Business Impact Analysis, Risk Assessment Report, etc.) in order to get a quick yet thorough understanding of your present disaster recovery strategy.
After receiving the completed surveys and reviewing the documentation, MBR consultants review the survey responses with your project champion and correlate this information with your documented Data Center strategy. MBR provides a written report, including tactical and strategic recommendations. Our recommendations are based on industry best practices, technological capabilities, your organization's unique requirements, and other specific findings of the assessment.
